Short term car insurance is not usually renewable, as you might need to get a new quote to make sure the rates and risks have not changed. However, that does not mean you can’t re-purchase short term car insurance. Most temporary insurance providers will send you details when your policy is ending, and give you the option to purchase a new policy or get a new quote if you need another temporary policy.
Often when someone buys temporary cover they might not know exactly how long they will need it for, and might decide they need another day or week’s cover. This is absolutely fine but remember that buying the correct length of cover from the start is likely to save you money, as 2 weeks insurance will be cheaper than 1 week insurance bought twice.
Some insurance companies will give you the option to renew your insurance but it is always a good idea to look around to see if you can find a cheaper price at this point. Just because one insurance provider was cheaper the first time does not mean their renewal price will be the cheapest still. This applies to temporary insurance as well as annual cover!
There is no real limit for how long you can keep purchasing temporary insurance for, but if you want to know more about the periods of cover you can purchase with short term car insurance you can read on.
