We offer different types of learner policies with different insurers, some for learners in a borrowed car and some for learners in their own car. Please make sure you select the right 'Reason for Cover' option above.
If you are looking for cover for you to learn to drive in someone else's car, select 'No' to this question.
If you own your own vehicle, and it is registered in your name, and you are looking for cover whilst you learn to drive in the car, please amend the 'Reason for Cover' option above to 'Learner in Own Car'.
If you own your vehicle but it is not registered in your name, we are unable to offer you cover.
Is the car already insured by the owner?
For our policies covering a Learner in a Borrowed Car, it is a policy requirement that the owner of the car being borrowed has a valid annual insurance policy on the car in place during the whole cover period of this policy. If the car owner's main policy falls for renewal within the cover period of this learner policy, it must be renewed without any gaps in cover. It will invalidate this policy if the owner does not have a main insurance policy in place.
Please confirm if the owner of the vehicle you are borrowing has a valid annual policy in place for the full period of cover of this policy. We will require information about that policy before you can purchase this policy.
If the owner of the vehicle you are intending to borrow does not have a valid insurance policy on the vehicle, we cannot offer you cover.
Select the type of Driving Licence you hold. Our insurers can only offer cover for the licence countries shown in the drop-down.
If you hold a Provisonal Licence, you will need to select one of the 'Learner' related options in the 'Reason For Cover' question above.
The country the licence was issued in.
Select how long have you held your Driving Licence for.
For Full Licence holders, we cannot unfortunately offer cover for drivers with their licence held under 6 months.
For Provisional Licence holders, there is no minimum Licence Held period requirement.
Complete this information based on the Driver needing insurance cover. Enter the date you (or the person needing cover, if you are getting a quote for someone else to drive) were born on.
Please enter your UK Residential Post Code (based on the person cover is for, if quote is for someone else to drive) . We may require you to verify this at a later stage.
Enter the Vehicle Registration Number, as known as 'number plate'. If the number is not found by our 'Find Vehicle' lookup tool, please double check you are not entering the letter 'O' or 'L' or 'I' instead of the number '0' or '1', or vice versa.
If you don't know the registration yet, you can get a quote based on the vehicle Make and Model information (click the red text below for this), but we will need the registration when you want to proceed with cover.
Unfortunately, we cannot cover vehicles that do not have a registration or are not yet showing on our registration lookup tool.
Enter the date you became the owner of the vehicle
Select how many days you need cover for. Cover lasts for 24hrs (per day) from the Start Time - so if your policy starts at 9:15am today and is a 2 Day Policy, it will expire at 9:14am in 2 days time. You will select your preferred Start Time just before you pay for your policy.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer insurance cover for this proposer.
Policy Excess is the amount you are required to pay towards any claim. InsureDaily customers are entitled to Customer Benefits, which includes a £250 Excess reimbursement for any non-recoverable excess following a valid claim. The Excess amount shown below is the Policy Excess amount remaining after the £250 has been reimbursed - so the amount you will be 'out of pocket' after a claim.
This is the maximum current market value the Insurer will accept.
InsureDaily customers are entitled to Customer Benefits, which includes Breakdown Cover at no extra cost to you - keeping our customers safe on the roads.
