MID (Motor Insurer's Database)

Q. When will my vehicle appear on the MID listing?

A. After the purchase of insurance, all vehicle insurance details are submitted to Insurers the next working day. This information is passed to the Motor Insurer's database the same day and will usually appear the following working day. As an example, any insurance purchased on Friday will not appear on the MID Database until the following Tuesday - excluding Public Holidays. Policies taken out for less than 3 days will have expired by the time the MID have updated their record systems; you should therefore carry your insurance documents with you at all times.
